“Patty takes the time to listen to residents and help them out with tasks.” - Holly Gentry, executive director

In August 2017, Patty Foltz celebrated 40 years of service to Life Care Center of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Foltz, a laundry attendant, has held the same position since she started working at the facility in 1977. She was drawn to the job because of her love for the residents.

When Foltz started working at the facility, the building was a converted mansion. She remembers using a pulley to send clean laundry upstairs from the first floor. The building has since been redone.

“I enjoy working with the people here,” Foltz said when asked what has kept her there all these years.

“She is the best laundry aide ever,” said Earl Lurks, housekeeping supervisor.

Foltz has made lifetime friends with the residents and their family members. She has visited many residents when they were in the hospital and has attended many residents’ funerals to comfort the families.

“She takes the time to listen to residents and help them out with tasks,” said Holly Gentry, executive director. “Patty is a valued employee at Life Care Center of Fort Wayne. We are happy to call her ours!”
